INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THE TURMERIC SMOOTHIE
Smoothie recipes are by far the easiest to make because all you need are fresh or frozen fruit and a liquid (preferably milk). For this recipe you will need:
Pineapple: I used frozen pineapple which helped to thicken the smoothie.
Banana: I used a ripe banana. A frozen banana will be just fine if you would like the consistency of your smoothie to be thicker.
Turmeric: Turmeric rhizomes and powder both exist, however I used turmeric powder which personally I find to be easier to use and less messy. Turmeric contains an important medicinal compound known as curcumin which has strong anti-inflammatory properties and is a great antioxidant.
Almond milk: Milk helps to break up the frozen chunks or pieces of fruit in the blender and also gives the smoothie a smooth texture. Your preferred milk of choice can be used.
Toppings of choice: I love adding fresh fruit, chia seeds or nuts on my smoothie. I used honeydew melon, cherries, bananas, blueberries and a sprinkle of chia seeds.
Honeydew Melon: This beautifully striped yellow fruit is known as the Oriental Melon or the Korean Melon. It does not only look pretty but also has many health benefits such as lowering cholesterol, promoting bone health and is also a great source of Vitamin C among other benefits. By the way, the seeds of this fruit are also edible and are actually not that hard in texture.
How to Make This Delicious Golden Smoothie
- Blend the base: Combine pineapple, banana, turmeric, and milk in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Adjust consistency: Add more milk for a thinner drinkable smoothie or less milk for a thick, spoonable texture.
- Serve and top: Pour into a cup or smoothie bowl. Add your favorite toppings for extra flavor, crunch, and nutrients.
It’s really that simple! The bright yellow color and tropical sweetness make it a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds.
Tips & Variations
- Frozen vs. fresh fruit: Frozen fruit creates a thick, milkshake-like smoothie. Fresh fruit works too, you could just add ice or frozen banana slices to thicken.
- Milk options: Almond, oat, coconut, or dairy milk all work. Choose based on flavor preference.
- Boost nutrition: Add flaxseed, hemp seeds, or protein powder to make it more filling.
- Sweetness: Pineapple is naturally sweet. If you prefer sweeter smoothies, drizzle in honey or maple syrup.

Notes
- I used frozen fruit for this smoothie as I wanted it to have a thick texture. If you prefer it to be drinkable, you can use fresh fruit.

- It is best to drink this smoothie as soon as you make it to gain its highest nutritional value.
