This easy to make, vibrant pink smoothie bowl is a great breakfast and is packed with antioxidants and nutrients. It is just what you need to start your day off on a healthy note.

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring cups
  • Smoothie bowl or glass
  • Spoon or spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1 medium-small pink dragonfruit
  • 1 cup (150g) strawberries
  • 1/2 cup (75g) pineapple
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) milk of choice
  • 1/2 tsp chia seeds

Instructions

  • Use all frozen fruit: banana, pink dragonfruit, strawberries, and pineapple. Using frozen fruit gives the smoothie a thick, creamy, and chilled texture. If you prefer, you can use fresh fruit instead, but the smoothie will be slightly thinner and less cold. Add a few ice cubes if you want to maintain a chilled texture with fresh fruit.
  • Add all the frozen fruit, chia seeds, and milk of choice to a blender. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  • If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more milk and blend again until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Pour the smoothie into a glass or bowl. Serve immediately for the best flavour, vibrant colour, and creamy texture.

Notes

  • Frozen fruit: Using frozen banana, dragonfruit, strawberries, and pineapple creates a thick, creamy, and chilled smoothie. Fresh fruit can be used, but the texture will be slightly thinner. Add a few ice cubes if you want it cold.
  • Milk options: Almond, oat, soy, coconut, or cow’s milk all work. Plant-based milk keeps it vegan; dairy milk adds extra creaminess.
  • Sweetness: No added sugar is needed as the fruit is naturally sweet. If desired, add honey or maple syrup to taste.
  • Chia seeds: Optional, but they add fiber, omega-3s, and subtle nutrition without affecting taste.
