A vibrant dragon fruit smoothie bowl topped with a rich chocolate magic shell that hardens instantly. This easy single-serving recipe is creamy, refreshing, and perfect for a quick breakfast or healthy dessert.
Smoothie Base
- 1 small frozen dragon fruit
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup (125ml) milk (of choice)
- 1 tsp natural sweetener (honey or maple syrup)
Chocolate Magic Shell
- 40g dark chocolate
- 1/2 tsp coconut oil
Toppings (Optional)
- 1 tbsp chopped pistachios
- 1 tbsp freeze-dried strawberries
Add frozen dragon fruit, frozen banana, milk and hone or maple syrup to a blender. Blend until thick and smooth.
In a small bowl, melt the chocolate and coconut oil together (microwave in short 15 second bursts, stirring in between to prevent burning). Stir until smooth and glossy.
Pour the smoothie into a bowl and smooth the top with a spoon.
Pour the melted chocolate over the cold smoothie. Within seconds, it will harden into a thin shell.
Sprinkle chopped pistachios, freeze-dried strawberries, or your favourite toppings on top.
Crack the chocolate shell with a spoon and enjoy!
- For best results, use frozen fruit to achieve a thick, scoopable texture.
- If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more milk (1 tablespoon at a time).
